reactance

Reactance is the hinder effect of the capacitor and the inductor to the AC current in an AC circuit (such as the RLC series circuit), like the resistance of the resistor that hinders the DC current in the DC circuit.

The unit of reactance is Ω.

In the circuit, the effect of the capacitor blocking the alternating current is called the capacitive reactance; the effect of the inductor blocking the alternating current is called the inductive reactance; the effect of the capacitor and the inductor blocking the alternating current in the circuit is called the reactance.
